A List of Low Carb Fruits with Pictures

low-carb-fruit-chartThis chart contains a comprehensive list of 92 fruits from the USDA website sorted by their total carbohydrate content from lowest to highest, along with the following information:

  • a picture next to each fruit so that you can see what a specific fruit looks like
  • columns showing total carbs, total fiber, and net carbs

Finding Fruits Lowest In Carbohydrates

The USDA website contains detailed nutrition facts about many different types of fruits. However, it does not allow you to compare the amount of carbs in each fruit side-by-side or sort the list of fruits by the ones that contain the lowest carbs first. Without that feature, it can be difficult to identify low carb fruits in the list.

With the table below, you can easily:

  • compare the various fruit varieties and the amount of carbs that they contain
  • sort the fruits by total carb content, net carb* content, fiber content, or fruit name by clicking on the “up/down” arrows
  • identify a fruit by looking at the picture next to the fruit’s name
  • see how much fiber a fruit contains
  • filter or search for a fruit by name using the search box
  • show up to 100 fruits per page

The numbers in the table refer to the amount of carbs or fiber per 100 g of the fruit. As an example, 100 g of starfruit contains 6.73 g total carbs, 2.8 g fiber, and 3.93 g net carbs.

100 g of fruit is about the size of:

  • half a medium-sized apple (1 medium apple with a 3″ diameter is about 182 g)
  • one small banana (1 small banana 6 to 7 inches long is about 101 g)
  • 2/3 cups of whole strawberries (1 cup of whole strawberries is 144 g)
  • 2/3 of an orange (1 orange is about 159 g)

* net carbs = total carbs – fiber. If you are following the Atkins Diet, count the total amount of net carbohydrates instead of total carbohydrates.
